We are currently seeking a Benefit Counselor

Job Summary

The Benefit Counselor will travel to client sites to meet with our client’s employees.  The benefit counselor will work with each employee to enroll in benefits offered in the plan year.

Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office.

• Lead or assist in leading open enrollment activities for client employees. The activities include project planning, communications, client system updates, and processing enrollment changes.   
• Serves as a primary day-to-day point of contact regarding the employee benefits enrollment process for client employees.  
• Perform administrative tasks related to all types of employee benefit programs for client employees, including group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, and retirement accounts.  
• Resolve client employee issues and concerns through customer service.  
• Reviewing for accuracy, processing client information into client systems 
• Travel is expected and constant in this role. 
• Stay current on license and education requirements
• Completing special projects as assigned
• Following company procedures concerning all essential duties and responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned
• Travel is expected to be 90% in this role

• Advanced degree from college or technical school; or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Strong organization and communication skills 
• Tech savvy; ability to learn multiple systems. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products 
• Appropriate insurance licenses; Life, Health & Accident, and Long Term Care 
• Valid driver’s license 
• Onsite client visits are required within NC and SC.
• Candidate must live in SC or NC 
• Travel required
