We are currently seeking a Manager for our Benefit Analyst team, someone that is a proactive professional, with excellent managerial skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial spirit. What You'll Do

Essential Duties Include:

  • Provide support to Sales and Operations for existing and prospective clients by monitoring and analyzing new benefit trends and their implications
  • Make recommendations based on analysis to internal departments for presentation to clients
  • Provide technical expertise related to financial or program analysis
  • Analyze medical benefit plan characteristics for new business and renewal customers
  • Analyze group risk and project future claims utilizing established underwriting criteria and policies to apply proper rating methodologies
  • Price standard and custom benefit plans
  • Negotiate rates and plan options to optimize cost-competitive medical benefit plans
  • Run core product quotes, obtain, and summarizing plan data from carriers, negotiate discounts and rate guarantees
  • Complete renewal plan and cost summary exhibits for all products
  • Review claim reports and prepare executive summaries and renewal forecasts
  • DeveloPrepare sales summary recommendations
  • Cultivate insurance carrier relationships
  • Prepare, distribute, and evaluate carrier proposals and marketing materials
  • Order benefit summaries and verify accuracy of sold plans
  • Follow company procedures concerning all essential duties and responsibilities
  • Participate in new product development committee
  • Document processes for the various levels in the department in a centralized location
  • Collaborate with other company managers to implement and assess procedures, evaluate efficiencies, and propose new initiatives
  • Maintain valid insurance licenses
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or more than six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of group health insurance experience as a Benefits Analyst, for an insurance- related company.
  • NC Life and Health License required.
  • Exceptional analytical and math skills
  • Goal-driven, organized, multi-tasker
  • Valid insurance
  • Tech savvy: ability to learn multiple Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
  • Able to travel.
